I have never written a blog before (eventhough, yes, I had a diary as a child). I know it seems that I’m a little behind with the times but it’s never too late to start, so here we go….
As a child I have always been a wanderer by myself, but I realized as an adult that traveling is a lot more fun with company. So when I met my now-husband, I figured it’s as good time as any time to start traveling. My husband, Charlie, has already traveled to other countries like Mexico, Paris, and Nicaragua before I met him. As for me at that time, I have only been to two countries other than my birth country (the Philippines) – the US, Tijuana part of Mexico, and Canada, so my husband really inspired and woke up my wandering soul 🙂 Yes, I have traveled within the US since 1991 but I have always had a curiosity to travel to Europe and other Asian countries someday. Our first travel together was to Cabo San Lucas and that became the beginning of my love to really have a travel immersion while I still can physically and mentally.
The next time my husband and I went to Cabo San Lucas was in 2014 when he and I did a beach wedding. It was the most simple and casual elegance that a woman like myself can ever ask for, but loved every minute of the experience.
Then my first trip to Europe was in 2015 during our first wedding anniversary celebration to Italy. I have to admit that the long flight from Seattle to Italy kicked my butt. Our first stop was Rome and sure did not disappoint in all its glory. I had the best time in this city because I think that the local people of Rome are the nicest and most welcoming to tourists in all honesty. After Rome, we truly embraced in travel immersion to Italy by traveling to these cities in this order after Rome – San Martirano, Arcuri, Falerna, Napoli, Milano, Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, then Rome to fly back to the US.
Here are photos from the trip in July 2015 with my partner in life forever, so enjoy!
Up next is the Spain trip that we just finished in August 2019, so stay tuned for my written exclamations and pictures capturing each moment of this recent trip….

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
